The price of Indian acetic acids increased by a week on March 20, due to tighter inventories at home and a stronger demand for immediate cargoes. Ex-tank domestic prices in Kandla and Mumbai were approximately Rs 36/kg, or $370 to 375 per metric tonne on an import parity basis. According to a source in the market, while demand was largely stable, the limited cargo arriving until the first half April would likely support domestic prices near-term. According to sources, the AA stock at the Kandla Port was 18,600 mt on March 15. This is down about 9,000mt since the end of February.
