The Indian acetic market experienced a mixed week in the lead-up to May 1, with weaker international prices and a strong ex-tank domestic market. Ex-tank prices in India were higher around Rupees 38-40.50/kg at Kandla, and around Rupees 37/kg at Mumbai. This was an increase of at least Rupee 1kg from week to week. Market sources claim that extremely tight stock levels at ports have led to an increase in ex-tank pricing. Multiple market sources reported that a ship with 22,000 mt AA would arrive in the Kandla Port around May 5. Arrival of other cargoes is likely to reduce inventories in ports.
