acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) market over the week of Oct. 5 as
participants continued to await China's return from holidays. According to market
sources, ABS demand has been strong thus far but could fall along with adjacent
polystyrene marketplaces. Despite the lack
of firm buying or selling indications, some sellers raised their offer levels
this week. Participants heard an offer for
CFR Southeast Asia's first half of November materials at slightly lower levels than
$1,500/mt. However, participants also stated that ABS producers are struggling
to make a profit. CFR China ABS and CFR
Southeast Asia ABS declined $10/mt each week to $1420/mt and $1470/mt
