Asian ABS: Increases due to low trading activity and
higher input costs- Styrene monomer rises $39-44/mt- Butadiene up to $25-30/mt ACN flatAsian acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene was
assessed up $10/mt in the week to Jan. 11 amid firming upstream styrene monomer
and butadiene, and stable demand and supply. According to a supplier,
offer prices rose by $30-50/ mt week-on-week due to the Yuan strengthening significantly
against the dollar. Another supplier
stated that they were still offering the same prices as last week. According to market sources, overall activity is still low
due to the Lunar New Year holiday lull. Upstream,
styrene monomer increased $39/mt to $1,008/mt China Jan. 11, while butadiene
rose $25/mt to $880/mt China Jan. 10. Acrylonitrile
