acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene was assessed up $5-6/mt week on week at $1,850-1,880/mt
CFR China and at $1,900-1,935/mt CFR Southeast Asia on May 4 on the back of
firmer upstream prices. July ICE Brent crude oil futures rose $3-4/mt to $108-120/mt
by 0830 GMT in Asian trading May 4, an increase of $3-4/mt on the previous
week. Styrene monomer increased $2-3/mt in
the same time period to $1310-1350/mt CFR China. Prices were lower among the larger producers this week. A
major Taiwanese producer was heard to have lowered its official offer $70-75/mt
to $2-3/mt China over the weekend. Another
producer stated that buyers were only interested in the product at
$1,800-1,850/mt CFR China. This week was
