(ABS) spot import CFR China price was assessed down by $50/mt- $80/mt on the
week at $2,075/mt- $2,090/mt CFR China and lower by $50/mt- $80/mt for the same
period at $2,105/mt- $2,130/mt CFR Southeast Asia on Dec. 1, amid sluggish
import demand from China. Sources said that ABS import demand from
China has dropped this week due to oil price crashes, a new coronavirus variant,
and relatively healthy domestic supply. Buyers
anticipate ABS prices to fall further, following lower upstream prices. Most
importers took a wait-and-see stance and kept their inventories low. A trade source stated that "End-users don’t want to
keep the relatively expensive feedstock in their inventories...
