Asian Toluene: Prices higher as buying interest picks up from India / East China toluene port inventories rise 29.87% WOW / South Korea toluene exports rise 32.79% MOM

According to preliminary statistics the toluene price $6/mt higher from the previous close at $694/mt FOB Korea and FOB China marker $3/mt lower day over day at $690/mt Aug. 1, as buying interest picked up from Indian buyers. Several market participants noted that demand from India’s buyers firmed up, with several cargoes heading toward India. Toluene Disproportionation unit (TDP) margins remained healthy despite pullbacks in market prices, with benzene FOB Korea marker $5.66/mt lower day over day at $743.67/mt Aug. 1, while isomer-MX FOB Korea marker $9/mt lower at $711/mt and paraxylene CFR Taiwan/China marker $13.66/mt lower day over day at $845.67/mt Aug. 1.
