PRefChem undertakes unplanned shutdown at MEG unit

Pengerang Refining and Petrochemical (PRefChem) has shut down its Monoethylene glycol (MEG) unit. A source in Malaysia, while requesting to remain unidentified, informed a team member, “The company has halted operations at the unit in early August 2025. Further details on the duration of the shutdown could not be ascertained.” Located in Pengerang, Johor in Malaysia, the unit has a production capacity of 750,000 mt/year.
