Lotte Chemical declares FM on supplies of MEG from Lake Charles plant

Lotte Chemical Louisiana has issued a force majeure (FM) on supplies of Monoethylene glycol (MEG) from its plant in Lake Charles, Louisiana. A source in the US informed a team member, “The company has declared the FM on July 21, 2025 following an unplanned shutdown caused by mechanical issues. The maintenance is slated to remain in place for about three weeks.” Located in Lake Charles, Louisiana in the US, the MEG plant has a production capacity of 720,000 mt/year.
