Asian Styrene Monomer: Prices rise as China signals policy shift / New policy intent from China on competition regulation / China shifts back to a net importer in June

styrene monomer CFR China and FOB Korea markers at $935/mt and $925/mt July 25 respectively, both rising $15/mt from the last assessment, tracking strength in domestic China markets. Upstream, the front month ICE Brent futures fell 40 cents/b to $68.58/b, while naphtha gained $4.375/mt on the trading session to $580.50/mt. The front-month August EB2509 styrene monomer futures contract listed on the Dalian Commodities Exchange was at Yuan 7,587/mt on July 25, rising Yuan 181/mt from the previous trading session as of the close of the afternoon trading session at 3 pm Beijing time.
