strong and spot offers have decreased. The FOB
Rotterdam spot price for methanol was Eur301.25/mt Dec. 8, an increase of
Eur7.50/mt per day. Eur9/mt The December-January contango structure
was Eur299-Eur300/mt for December deliveries. Prices in January ranges of
Eur304-Eur309/mt for January deliveries. Sources indicate that at least 7,000
mt was traded spot. A trader stated that there are fewer offers
today than ever before. The trader stated that the market
length is likely to have decreased due to increased spot activity in December,
which has helped prices. The shutdown of the China
methanol-to olefins plant in Asia prompted a weakening sentiment in Asia. Asian
