Shell Chemicals to undertake planned maintenance at EG and EO units

Shell Chemicals is likely to shut down its Ethylene glycol (EG) and Ethylene oxide (EO) units in Geismar, Louisiana. A source in the US informed a team member, “The company has planned to halt operations at the units in August 2025 for maintenance. The exact date and duration of the shutdown could not be ascertained.” Located in Geismar, Louisiana in the US, the EG unit has a production capacity of 430,000 mt/year and the EO unit has a production capacity of 415,000 mt/year.
