India PVC: Prices steady amid anticipation of antidumping duty clarity / Domestic prices heard at Rupees 70/kg / Asia market sees mixed trends

CFR India PVC suspension grade at $730/mt, unchanged week over week on Aug. 6, amid a quiet market as most participants awaited the announcement of the antidumping duty investigation, expected in several weeks. Market discussions remained subdued, with sources confirming that tradable levels were rangebound. Price discussions for Chinese-origin cargoes were mixed, with wide spreads heard at $665-$680/mt for carbide-based cargoes and $680-$710/mt for ethylene-based cargoes. One market source said the demand surge seen last week appeared to have tapered off, with local prices expected to decline shortly. However, this could not be corroborated.
