Petronas Chemicals plans turnaround at butac plant

Petronas Chemicals is likely to undertake a planned shutdown at its Butyl acetate (butac) plant in Kerteh. A source in the Malaysia informed a team member, “The company is expected to shut the plant by the end of Quarter 1 2026 for a maintenance turnaround. The exact date and duration of the shutdown could not be ascertained.” Located in Kerteh, Malaysia, the plant has a production capacity of 50,000 mt/year.
