South Asian polypropylene prices fell further in the week ended Aug. 6 amid a stronger US dollar, persisting weak demand and ample supply. PP raffia/injection grade down $15 from the last assessment at $910/mt CFR South Asia Aug. 6, considering that deals were heard and corroborated at the lowest offer at $910/mt. The assessment was also above the highest bid at $900/mt and within tradable indications heard at $910-$920/mt. Sources said that price discussions eased from last week as the US dollar strengthened against the local currencies, leading to a comparable fall in the price levels. “Approximately, the US dollar went up by around 1.5% and the discussions this week are down by around the same level.
