Formosa Chemicals and Fibre to halt operations at No.2 PTA unit

Formosa Chemicals and Fibre (FCFC) is likely to shut down its No.2 Purified terephthalic acid (PTA) unit in Ningbo. A source in China informed a team member, “The company has planned to take the unit off stream in the second half of August 2025 for maintenance. The exact date and duration of the shutdown could be ascertained.” Located in Ningbo, China, the No.2 unit has production capacity of 1.5 million mt/year.
