Asian oxo-alcohol prices rose in the week to Jan. 8, driven by tight supply and increased upstream costs. 2-ETHYLHEXANOL Asian spot 2-EH prices edged up in the week due to regional supply tightness and rising freight costs. The two newly added 2-EH capacities in China have yet to ramp up fully and were operating at reduced levels, market participants said. Additionally, a Taiwan-based producer has postponed the restart of its 2-EH unit by a week. Higher freight costs also contributed to the price gains, a Taiwan-based producer said.
