Asian orthoxylene closed the week ending Aug. 1 on a quiet note, with limited discussion heard in the market. OX prices stable week over week at $850/mt FOB Korea, $850/mt CFR China and $870/mt CFR SEA Aug. 1. Market activities have been slow during the week to Aug. 1, amid prolonged weakness in the downstream demand, said several sources. In the Indian market, offers for September-arrival cargoes were heard around $920-$930/mt CFR India, although buying interest remained subdued with limited import urgency amid sample supply, said market participants. “There could be some pick-ups in the next two weeks,” said one participant, awaiting demand recovery after the monsoon season.
