South Asia PE: Prices stable to soft on moderate demand / LLDPE at $935/mt / South Asian HDPE film at $925/mt

The prices for most PE grades remained unchanged in the South Asian market in the week to July 30 on moderate to soft demand, largely stable material availability and rangebound discussions. Though import offers for HDPE and LLDPE grades were heard at higher levels, most trade participants said the demand is yet to pick up in the region. LLDPE offers were on the higher side for Karachi port delivery, even as the demand remains slow in the entire South Asian region, a Pakistan-based source said. "Higher offers have not resulted in increased buying inquiries or overall higher tradable levels for the market," a Mumbai-based source said.
