Petronas Chemicals to start maintenance at No. 2 methanol unit

Petronas Chemicals Group is likely to shut down its No.2 methanol unit in Labuan Island. A source in Malaysia informed a team member, “The company has planned to halt operations at the unit around August 1, 2025 for maintenance. Further details on the duration of th shutdown could not be ascertained.” Located in Labuan Island, Malaysia, the No.2 unit has production capacity of 1.675 million mt/year.
