Asian PVC: Chinese prices strengthen amid subdued export demand / Market fundamentals unchanged / CFR China down $15/mt over week

Asian PVC prices were stable to weaker in the week to July 23. Chinese domestic prices increased amid subdued export demand. PVC CFR China as down $15/mt week over week at $700/mt, in line with tradable indications heard in the $700-$740/mt range and partially considering offers heard at $700/mt. New offers for August loading in Asia were announced this week. CFR China offers were heard to be lower than tradable indications provided by market participants. A Northeast Asian producer said that offer levels remained stable, as freight rates were unchanged. Another Northeast Asian producer expected CFR China prices to rebound, saying that distributors were raising prices following gains in Chinese PVC futures.
