Celanese to take etac/butac plant off stream

Celanese is in plans to shut down its Ethyl acetate (etac)/butyl acetate (butac) plant in Jurong Island. A source in Singapore informed a team member, “The company is likely to start maintenance at the plant by mid-August 2025. Further details on the duration of the shutdown could not be ascertained.” Located in Jurong Island, Singapore, the plant has an etac production capacity of 85,000 mt/year and butac production capacity of 60,000 mt/year.
