Asian FOB Singapore MTBE was valued at
$13.08/mt, or $825.50/mt, on Dec. 14. However, there was still a lot of trade
activity in Southeast Asia. The Market on Close assessment
process was closed on December 14, and no bids or offers were made. The factor
remained at 1.148. The February ICE Brent futures rose $1.33/mt on
Dec. 14 to $80.54/mt, despite a further easing in COVID-19 restrictions by
China. A trader stated that demand and supply in
Southeast Asia seem to be fairly balanced right now, while the Chinese
arbitrage window for Southeast Asia is still closed due to high freight prices. According
