polyethylene stabilized as both India and China, two major markets, were on
holiday. At
$91.62/b at 4:30 PM Singapore time (0830 GMT), the December ICE Brent crude oil
futures contract was $2.09/b higher than its previous Asian close. Some traders from the Middle East said that it was better to
sell to India now than to Europe because of high energy and gas prices. They claimed that many converters had been forced to stop
due to low demand. India had a higher
netback but the demand was low as cargo didn't arrive in time for Diwali. Some traders claimed that there were many cargoes sent from
