Asia: Higher discussions- Ethane will be the predominant PE feedstock by 2023- Taiwan's USI operates 100% polyethylene plantsThe week ended Nov. 23 saw
Asian low density polyethylene go up largely due to slightly higher discussions
following China's relaxation in COVID-19 policies. A company source confirmed
that PTT Global Chemical, Thailand, will close its 300,000 mt/year low density
polyethylene plant at Map Ta Phut in February for maintenance. Taiwan's USI Corp. will continue to run its Linyuan
polyethylene plants at 100%, after they were closed at the end October for
maintenance. A company source stated Nov. 15. The company owns an LDPE line that can produce 120,000
mt/year, and a HDPE/LLDPE swing facility with a 160,000 mt/year production
